Client Experience Overview

Software Developer Clients
Intacct:
As team lead, I headed up Upstart Communications’ efforts to provide
strategic and tactical counsel and ongoing PR and Analyst Relations support
for this start-up accounting ASP serving the SOHO and low-end mid-markets.
Projects included successful media and analyst tours, speaker placement,
strategic media placements (including the WSJ), and strategic messaging and
positioning.
ACCPAC
International:
Following the six-month assignment with start-up Intacct, UpStart signed
higher-end mid-market accounting firm ACCPAC International to a long-term
strategic-to-tactical PR campaign program. As team lead, I guided the agency
in providing pre-IPO, analyst relations and a full suite of marketing-driven
PR support for this spin-off of market-leading Computer Associates (CA).
Softline Group North America:
When I
left UpStart, the former ACCPAC PR Director, now with Softline, brought me
onboard to provide PR and strategic planning/marketing support for Softline
Group and for it’s two North American operating companies:
·
BusinessVision
Niche-focused SME business accounting software has generated significant
press coverage for its upgraded and niche-expanded product line, supporting
the VAR network and direct sales – CEO named to Accounting Today’s Top 100
Movers and Shakers, 2002-2003 during move from #2 in Canadian market toward
Top Five in North America
·
AccountMate
Specialized open source-code SME business software transitioned from
mom-and-pop company to a major North American market player
Hypercosm:
Barnett Marketing Communications provided ongoing PR support for this
high-tech 3D software company based in San Jose and Madison, Wisconsin; I
launched the company at the 3D Expo Trade Show in Santa Clara in early May –
just one week after signing them as a client. I then created ongoing
PR support while developing long-range PR strategic plans to help Hypercosm
create awareness, build image and capture market share.
ViewCentral:
This
Mountain View-based company is an ASP-model software developer addressing
the unique needs of the multi-billion dollar meeting planner market. I
came in to develop a broad marketing strategy, then – while helping to
recruit and train an in-house marketing/PR director – began the
implementation of an aggressive long-range PR/Marcom plan.
